Hello, Why are they extending the position application for Orlando captain? Can we skip rank and apply if we are not off probation?

if someone applied that was qualified they should be made to hire them. Now, whoever applied that already works here is going to have a bad attitude.

I can say they have missed some good quality people in the past because of this. Why don't they just pick who they want and move on. Don't waste people's time or give someone false hope thinking they have a chance, not only if they qualify, but not even considering if that person works hard and has set goals on it. I'm sure if they didn't meet the requirements the application process (MG) would have kicked them out. This is why nobody applies for the positions around here. history repeating itself yet again.

The Panama City Captain was appointed without ever having an application process so the fact that they had an application process shows you there were no internal people they wanted for that position.

So typical of this place. We have 2 captains they done this to not to mention LTs. Management asked a southern Lt to apply for a captains job, then they readverstised the job, hired someone else who didn't stick around for a month, (friend of Jax Captain) ended up having to beg him to take the job they initially ask him to apply for. #2 captain was in line and promised the northern region captain position but again, took 20 years to make him captain. Now you wonder why no one will apply. Everyone is watching to see if the chief will be any different. So far, no cigar. Again we all had high hopes for the new chief to do better. Riding around with us is smoking mirrors. And you're not the first chief to come out for a Spring Break. Janet was so excited to wear her new uniform only to find a cancelled Spring Break in PC. Connors wore his "Agent" uniform on all the warrants in the southern region. VC had one she wore around the house.

That promotion was a little different. They were able to essentially get a lieut. and a captain for the price of one.
