That was a very good post and is very useful. That is why this forum was created for anonymity, and being able to express your thoughts without worry of repercussions, which would happen for sure in the work place. There is a lot of bs in this forum and post degrading your mom and such when some one disagrees. There is a lot of truth in some of these posts and it hurts and some are bogus.

The inability or unwillingness to cite actual issues only points towards the fragile state of the inept employees and not the agency. If there are no real issues to discuss then you should all shut up and do your job. This thread is filled with ridiculous responses that hold no real merit. Also, USFSP was not part of the equation in this post. You have your own agency and your own issues.

I'm sorry were we not allowed to have a sense of humor? I for one am thankful you're here to set us straight. I mean, it's not like this website has been littered with actual problems for years that have never been addressed by the agency. I for one say NO MORE to fragile, inept posts that plauge our public forum. From now on we either get serious or shut up. Otherwise Karen here will be forced to write another strongly wordered post directing us to hush up.

Everyone's opinion has some merit whether it is good or bad. This is another Admin. post that basically says, just quit your job and your profession and give it up here if you have any opposing ideas. So wrong. Any opposing ideas or suggestions on an anonymous forum should be received and viewed whether good or bad.
Post your top three complaints about this agency....that is good stuff. Like the other poster put, a of it is true and hurtful and some are pure bs. But a very good post started by the original poster.

1.-Stop trying to make extra special units and dividing up the patrol division and the low man power/woman power we have here
2-.Put those people back into patrol and beef up the squads
3.- Instead of creating special units, use those people from the patrol squads that have certain certifications, as is permitted by man power/woman power that needs to done for the bs community policing stuff that needs to be done manpower/woman power permitting. Otherwise hire a lot more people. Hell, a good amount of the officers working here have office jobs and are sitting in the office all day. It's just wrong. Put them to work.

Most of you need to stop being so miserable and spewing venom and start praying.

I agree But our trt and 2 out of 3 k9's are already attached to a patrol squad. All we would gain is 2 "presentation" officers and their K9 Cpl on the street, which is better than no extra bodies we have now.
Manpower is a huge issue and probably will continue to be an issue due to the current climate towards law enforcement.
We could always add detectives to patrol right now since we know they have zero case load. But that will never happen.
Our equipment is definitely an officer safety issue. But we don't have a budget for that.
And like it has been posted many times, some admin people need to retire and get some more, updated forward thinking people in the positions. People that will have a backbone and stand up to the university, so we are not taking info report's on things that don't need to be written.
We shouldn't be responding to overflowing toilets, jump starting cars, crosswalk duty, unlocking doors, or being told to push the trash down so the compactor alarm doesn't go off.
