911 Still A Joke

911 couldn’t figure out the difference between a god damn noise complaint and a domestic. They fill call notes with “difficulty obtaining information - using other resources” and all sorts of BS. They make people in distress into “combative patients” which prompts deputies to respond to EMS calls. Most people who are calling about a crime in progress or a medical emergency aren’t calm. In fact they’re usually frantic. And then you ask them their name, address and phone number twice which pisses off people who need help. Your practices delay our response and hinder our efforts. Maybe if the County has some higher standards for hiring and paid more for better employees the County would have appropriate service. And we would be better off if 911 raised pay and standards and cut a few positions. I wish a reporter would do an expose’ on this train wreck.

What’s even more concerning is the delay in between fire/ems and law enforcement dispatch times.

I once found out about an agg batt call after rolling up on FD who was staging. Our call didn’t come across until a minute later. Probably a three or four minute difference between us and them.

These EMD dispatchers spend too much time on the phone before transferring to the appropriate LE agency.

911 is too busy taking 20 minute smoke brakes, playing on their cell phones, taking breaks in the “quiet room” and watching cable TV!!!! And they waste precious time during 911 calls fighting their way through a ridiculous script based on what the caller told them the problem was!!!! They are more concerned with a caller who is upset than what they are calling about. God forbid a caller swears at them. They will put more effort into typing what the caller acts like than the real issue. 911 is a broken program in this county. And the BCC either doesn’t k ow or doesn’t care.

Listen, until someone important gets hurt as a result of slow service nothing will change. The BOCC doesn’t care, the director of 911 doesn’t care and the Sheriff doesn’t care. They all k ow it’s a gigantic shit show. They employ morons who read a script and waste time. They hate cops and don’t care what the LEO side needs. They can’t even get along with our Comm Center people. But their fat asses will come down for employee appreciation picnic day. Like a bunch of fat cows at the trough.
