Law enforcement used to work more off of common sense and not the rule of the book. Now the rules of the book ae taught to be enforced. That's not what they were written for. The rules were written there to use if you have to push it to the max.
In at Atlanta, they were called to the Wendy's for a guy sleeping in the drive thru. They made contact with him, woke him up, and had him move his car out of the drive through and he was cooperative..., problem solved. 10-8 settled.

That's it. These young officers are taught now to take it to the extreme and what you can enforce from the statutes of law and don't use any discretion . It's all all about common sense people. A lot of this could be settled through common sense on enforcement of the law on the books. These younger generations of cops are missing the knowledge passed along by the older generations on how to deal with situations as they have retired and new hot shots move in on the job.

The aggression is felt. Again, just talking plain common sense, not if sure officers are even taught that these days on the job but only statutes of the book. The officers were called there because of a guy sleeping in his car in the drive thru. He was woken up and was cooperative and moved his car. Problem settled. Didn't have to go beyond that. You are a fool.

It's poor training. Can you shoot fleeing people now? Especially when they have you car and identification of who you are. Think about it before you answer.

Yeah because our old school done it all guys really help out the younger officers. Dodging calls, being on a "training call" or "weapon maintenance" for hours at a time while everyone else takes the calls is really teaching our younger officers something.

Due process and the officers bill of rights is now out the door. Politically motivated chiefs and administrators are rolling with this climate. Good cops are villified and we can lose our freedom and livelihood by doing our jobs. Time to get out. It's not about facts but more perception based.

Why won't you post my thoughts moderator? Did what I say offend you? The older generation has taught the new generation ofc at this agency absolutely nothing. Is this ok snowflake?
