    Time for a real Union

You all deserve this. Whats it gonna take to get the PBA to represent us? You’re paying dues for a hamburger cookout every year and that’s all they’re good for. Every one of the officers on the board are indebted to management for special positions. At least with the PBA you’d have independent representation. In-house favors, controls, and bribery been going on between management and the FOP for years already. Time to break with this unwise tradition! Vote PBA!

Lmao...yeah...great idea! Go ahead and go to the forum of EVERY dept that has PBA and see how happy they are! As an FOP member you are entitled to have both and use the PBA attorney instead if you prefer.

    Ask yourself 2 questions??

    1. Ask yourself if the PBA is that bad, why is it they represent the majority of cities in Miami Dade County?
Answer: Because they’re the biggest and the most professional Union with the most resources and staff to help it’s members.

    2. Ask yourself who wants to keep the FOP more than anything?
Answer: Management, the FOP Board, and everyone with their heads up Management’s ass to maintain their positions for their own selfish reasons.

Umm...No brainer. Skip the burger, thanks.

You know you would only have one or two MBPD members on the PBA board right. It wouldn’t be our own chapter. So who do you think the board, which is comprised mostly of MDPD guys, fight for the strongest? You may want to become better informed.

    Boot licker says what??

Oh please, ANY independent, honest representation is 100 times better than the home-cooked, self serving, boot lickers we have now. Almost all of them in special units afraid to speak up for the members or selling them out for their asshole buddies. Disgraceful.

Above poster has a point and to add to that point a E Board member not only has been taken care of with specialized positions but not one has ever been disciplined even when they are caught red handed in wrong doings. In addition look at all the benefits that have been handed out to past FOP presidents and E Board members.

Just look at your pay, benefits & retirement as opposed to other agencies, just cause the Chief is screwing with our shifts it does not mean we don't have a good union, in our profession everything is not instant gratification just because we wanted it now!

Our union is doing a fine job. They have played the cards right and shut down the chiefs crazy shift changes every week for now. Just let them do their job and you do yours.

Just wait till after next year's contract negotiations. Then see what benefits (pay/pension) you are going have.
