Honor: Why Won't He Do The Right Thing?

Why doesn't he have the honor to retire and allow this dept to heal? It is only a matter of time before the trial starts and the stories of this drug trafficking, child raping cop family re-emerge. These stories almost always paint a negative picture of this department and the personnel within it.
Why does he insist on dragging SPD's name through the mud again? Why is he such a selfish POS?

Why obfuscate the issue? Young Menocal will be in the news again, certainly when the plea deal or trial starts, and the family history along with SPD's past will be under the microscope again. No one will believe SPD has reformed as long as Ignacio is still on the payroll.
And more importantly everyone who applies to a different agency is looked upon with some skepticism due to the dark shadow he casts upon SPD. Every man in this department has to pay the price for his presence.
He needs to act like a man, show some leadership, and do what is right for the agency and it's officers....leave!
