    Raise?

So it’s getting close to that time of the year when the budget is submitted to the BOCC. Anyone hearing what our proposed raise will be? This will be interesting for sure, with the Rona, Riots and Re-election, interesting it shall be.

    Sheriff Marceno = Big Raise

Just remember a vote for Sheriff Marceno means bigger raises for deputies

    First Draft of County Budget

According to the Lee County Commission website, the Commission will meet on 6-16-20 to review the first draft of the proposed budget for 2020-21. The meeting packet includes a Power Point presentation that says the proposed budget includes the Sheriff's request for a 3% employee increase. The budget proposal for the LCSO includes an increase of a little more than 1 million.

You are welcome. The process is relatively transparent. The budget goes through 3 drafts, then is presented to the public twice before there is a final vote in September. One can view video of the commissioners meetings online by live video feed during the meeting or archived videos. The Lee County Commission website posts the dates of each meeting in the timeline, as well as, documents related to their agenda discussions.

    No raise

3% is a cost of living increase not a raise. Anything above 3% would be a raise, ex a 5% increase would mean you actually received a 2% raise.
