Hey Wesley....if you chase a vehicle from Deland into Orange City with your lights off it is still a pursuit. And when it causes an accident and innocent people get hurt makes it even worse (and yes....the criminals should have stopped). But you identified the driver and charges could have been filed (and innocent people would not be in the hospital).

Google Maps states the distance as 1.4 miles from the location of the traffic stop to the accident scene. Seems like Blum messed up.

The 1.4 miles is being generous. Guaranteed Blum picked him up in Spring Hill.....followed him to McGregor / Woodland and realized he better call out a traffic stop (since he was at the edge of D2). And who would be willing to bet Blum lit him up WAY before McGregor/Woodland. And the AVL will probably bear all this out...as well as Blum following him into Orange City pursuing him (as I am sure there are witnesses, the suspect, and the innocent victims) would testify to.

Blum has absolutely nothing to worry about. The last thing Chitwood wants to do is bring attention to this failed traffic stop and pursuit that caused an accident right now.
