Agree with you 100% that that is the kind of police work that needs to be done to take care of the situation. The big questions is this.......Is the command staff going to back them up now that it’s on the news?

That boy was taunting the RDF units since the moment the crowd arrived and after the crowd was given the disperse order, 90% of the hugeeee crowd kept it moving and 10% stayed. Those 10% were saying everything in and out of the book. Not to mention the rocks and water bottles that were thrown to and over the line. They were making trigger fingers and mimicking guns and pulling the triggers over and over. They challenged the police to come to them. So being the tactical inclined officers that they are, coordinated with SRT to make the arrest since the subject had already violated the disperse order. That boyyy started to walk away the moment an arrest team sprinted out the line and SRT crept up and grabbed the subjects. 0939... You want your city to burn because your police force allowed it? Funny how they had positive reviews from everyone. Now after time has passed, someone had the drive to create a scandal of victimization and the media is dishing it out.

SRT keep doing great work. Handle business. Also control yourselves. If you know they will instigate and promote confrontations, etc. Control yourself. Protecting this community is what you signed up for. However, you are far better trained than the average citizen. Talking shit isn't arrestable. Every camera in the world is on our profession. Display professionalism at all times. Some of you on here are part of the problem. Stop condoning this "us against them mentality". If you can't handle people talking shit to you take your thin skinned ass somewhere else. MDPD has shown the country how we can handle this. Cops are losing their jobs all over this country right now for actions being filmed during this time. If your family can afford your loss of income, continue with your actions. If you like this profession and you're a hot head, take a few days off. Gather your senses and figure out how to do this job without being angry. Everyone of us are going to be scrutinized. Our backgrounds, our discipline (if any), from the number of use of forces we've had. This is not a video game. Focus. Handle business. Continue to show this country what MDPD is about. This is a historic moment in this country. Changes are coming to this profession. Hope you are ready for it. If not, you may need to find a new profession. IJS. But Gimenez ordered Ramirez to make sure in the future all officers involved in policing protests wear body cams, and the county is also exploring adding them to the shields used in crowd control operations.

Gimenez said Ramirez will be "changing his tactics on that. I‘m not sure that everybody had a body camera, but I want to make sure that all our police officers have body cameras during these very trying times. They had them on most of the time and most units do. I want all units to have them on."

The officer did nothing wrong. He told the dude to get in the ground and he refused. So what are going to do? Let the dude do whatever he wants? No you use the correct amount of force to take him into custody to do you job. The dude resisted, so he sustained a scrape on his elbow. Big deal. Both him and the officer are still alive. The dude will listen hopefully better next time. There was plenty of warning to disburse due to the curfew. Officers are being Murdered all over the country because of the protesters and your worries about a simple justified take down. Keep hiding behind your keyboard, you clearly know nothing about a hostile situation let alone police work.......

This is the problem. He did do something wrong. Stop condoning this behavior. That's the problem. If he was being arrested for curfew, then why was SRT getting in the vehicle? Why not arrest all of them, even the person recording the video? Someone is going to be the scapegoat. Will you take care of their family? Not hiding behind the keyboard. Just trying to warn you all. Cameras are running. Saying "**** you" is not arrestable. Dumb decisions are made by egos. Be smart.
