Harlem got him elected his first term. Why do you think he ran as a Democrat? He catered to those voters. He’s got the white republican votes, they already bought & paid for it two terms ago. Lost Harlem? Even though he’s done more for the honest and upstanding citizens in that community then any other Sheriff they vote Democratic in blocks. So not sure if he truly had them. The Democratic Party hasn’t done anything positive for the African American community in decades that’s across the nation. They should truly re-think their party affiliation.
