Age has nothing to do with the percentage of pay you get in retirement. All age does is make you ELIGIBLE earlier for retirement. So If two people start on the same day but are let’s say 20 years apart in age. The twenty year old has to do a minimum say 22 years. When a forty year old only has to do 12 years.

So the 22 year old would get about 70% of his salary after his 22 years and the 40 year after 12 years only gets 36% of his salary.

So it’s all about years of service that give you the higher percentage.
