Promotional Process
How many years of continuous service at BSO is needed to be able to test for the Sergeant Position? Various people in the department give different answers. Is it 2 years, 4 years or 5 years? Just curious for the correct answer.

2 years are needed to take promotion exam for Sgt.
To be a Captain or above you only need 14 arrest and a good set of knee pads.
To be Sheriff you need 5 years or more as a gang member and at least 1 murder charge and 1 drug charge.
Hope this helps.

You say that like it was a bad thing. I have news for you, Jenne was a better sheriff than the one we currently have or the last one we had. I'd take him over those two any day, even with his faults! Hey, since Tony can hold office, I wonder if Jenne can come back now. He said he was sorry!
