Why FDLE is the joke of Law Enforcement

Break it down: (all is just an expression of personal opinion)

Commissioner Swearingen- Hired as a FDLE data entry clerk, work his connections, got hired through the Special Agent Trainee program. That is, you just become an Agent from the Data Entry Clerk position.

Becomes an Agent, works a few small assignments, then gets assigned to a Federal Task Force working with a group of Agencies that are doing federal charges. As such, He takes a worker-bee, secondary role and rides the stats and work of a group. The moment they tell him he is no longer going to be on a task force, he explodes and can't take the fact that he will have to do investigations on his own like a real cop/real agent. Immediately transfers to Tallahssee to work his way through bureaucracy and ended up as a babysitter at the mansion and for the Governors protection detail. Ingratiates beyond a professional level with the Governor so much that the Governor appoints him to run the Agency, even though he (Swearingen) is not qualified and not picked or compared to a list of real qualified candidates. Of course, this appointment was from the Governor of Florida who committed the biggest healthcare fraud and pleaded the fifth over 50 times in a criminal inquiry.

Proceeds to ruin FDLE.

Cookie- I think everyone already knows. Over reacts, aggressively over-reacts to employees who dare question her. A legend at FDLE for sure.. for the wrong reasons. Has been a joke since she was wrongly promoted many years ago.. because of who she knew and not what she knew. Another FDLE Type that Foy secretly hates (see below).

Foy- I hear he failed to inform an OPD swat team about information regarding hostages and people were killed. He was a no-go black-listed guy at OPD so left for FDLE. Is well known as a "steaming pile of shit" among those that aren't ass kissers in the LE community. Hates anyone that has spent their career at FDLE (err, kind of like the Swearingen types) but he's gonna do his best to bring people from the outside that actually know LE work and will in turn be loyal to him. Will be overly loyal to some, back stab behind doors, and has a quirky fake smile that makes you wonder what's going on upstairs.

The elite are most definitely.... not elite.

You must not have been here too long. Those are old arguments even if they are true.
The SAT program has always been a joke. Tallahassee is like Green Acres or Mayberry RFD.
The legacy of senior management here has a lot of this behaviour. This is because that is what the Legislators want. Seconded by the Sheriffs association.
