    Why couldn’t the cop just you his taser or back up further. Just doesnt make sense that the black man has to die.

    You saw how quickly the man moved with the knife -- and it was questionable if the man was going to be stopped by shooting him -- until he actually fell down to the ground. Would you have used a taser in lieu of a gun? If you miss with the taser and/or if the prongs hit the wrong spot, then you get stabbed.
