Tequesta PD pays time and a half and Manalopan lays $100 per shift.

Is this a joke? These agencies aren’t comparable to Hollywood and neither is in Broward.

    Tequesta:
They have 20 officers in their entire department. They are paid significantly less than us. After 5 years we make more than they do topped out. Anyone hired after 2011 there has a 401(A) instead of a pension.

    Manalapan:
As of July 2018 they are a department consisting of 8 sworn officers. They are struggling to fill the four vacancies they do have because of their low pay and retirement plan. They have a 401k, instead of a pension. The total population of this town that I never heard of is about 400 residents. Malapan is hiring if you want your $100/shift hazard pay.

Here is a link for Manalapan regarding their struggle to hire officers:

Playing devils advocate here.. Im not a fan of hazard pay personally, but, if you want to compare apples to apples. Then go off what we said before PBSO and Jupiter PD both have implemented some sort of hazard pay.
