    Layoffs

I love the city managers letter in response to Matt sellers request for talks about hazard pay during this crisis. He was reasonable until the end when he suggested furloughs or layoffs based on financial state of city during and after this crisis. Well good luck with that, let's start with the bloated third floor and endless excessively undercover specialty units, who are working on big mystery case. Look forward to seeing a couple of hundred dollars, 12 grams of weed, and three oxycodone pills spread out on table for the media after spending obscene amounts of money on overtime.

Yes, but admin is cracking down on patrol officers that get a few hours overtime when they come in early or stay late for a shift, yea that's going to help. We all know it is punitive because citistat was so dismal, chief cannot stand to see any yellow, despite fact we were instructed to limit our self initiated activity and limit interaction with citizens. Cant have your cake and eat it too chief !

This guy has built such a deep layer of bureaucracy , he has insulated himself from any repercussions. Surrounded himself with enough subordinates to blame if anything ever goes south or any negative publicity.

Have you seen the chief lately? He does have his cake and he is eating too! The city attempted these scare tactics in the late 2000's while country was in a recession. They threatened layoffs and a hiring freeze unless officers all voted to take a paycut. It worked. Most of the officers were junior with very little time on and panicked and voted away the farm. The vote was majority to give up money. No raises for years and that is why FMPD is still down in pay from other agencies. Just take a serious look around. High turnover, people retired/retiring (lucky ones), still putting people through the academy, high crime rate, etc. the city cannot afford to lose manpower. The budget was put in place and is good through September. Do not give anything up. In fact ask for more during this crisis. Sellers will be no help, chief is against rank and file and the city counsel is clueless. Officers need to get on the same page and stick together.

Here’s a way to save money. Why are the bike guys showing up to the evening briefing in bike uniforms saying they worked day time bike overtime when all of downtown is closed and a ghost town. Then they find a way to sit in their office when there supposed to be zone units.

If lay offs or pay cuts are brought to table. Last time better be a life lesson. Vote for layoffs cause you’ll never get that money back. The layoffs can start with the last 50 Diggz diversity hires vs quality hires, two deputy chiefs, inspector general, 4 captains, mango Mitch, cold case detectives, way too many abbreviated speciality units that can all work patrol , scrap the newspress building plans, sell the real time crime center & all the useless equipment inside it. Saheed, I just saved you millions.

The Inspector General is just like YD. No one knows what their purpose or job at the agency. Both do absolutely nothing but and get paid on top of that!

It took three posts for you to fit the bike unit into the downfall of FMPD. Slackers. Those three guys are burning that place to the ground!
