Thanks for the information. I’m just disappointed that the PBA didn’t provide us with those updates. In fact, I’m disappointed we see and hear nothing from the PBA at all. Unlike IUPA who is all over the sheriff for not providing proper safety equipment, the PBA is in hiding.

Federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act
Under number 19, the Federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act requires the department to conspicuously post the act for employees so that they know their rights and employer responsibilities if they get sick. Has anyone seen it posted anywhere? I highly doubt it. I would bet HR is clueless about it, or would be deliberately not want us to know our rights.

From the Act:
"For employers with existing paid leave policies, the Act’s paid sick time is in addition to any existing leave. An employer cannot require employees to use their existing accrued leave time before using this emergency leave. Employers also cannot require their employees to find a replacement worker if they need to take this emergency leave."

So you think they are going to let everyone take this time off and not be able to cover the road and provide basic law enforcement services. Unless YOU or a member of your direct family that is effected by or contracted COVID-19, you should NOT be a selfish pr*ck and apply for this so you can sit home versus sitting in your unit ignoring calls.
Start doing your job and stop looking for ways to get something you don't deserve or are not entitled.

If you get sick with the virus I hope that you use your own sick time and vacation time to fight it. Never in my posts did I insinuate being lazy and not working. On the contrary, the most dedicated officers have the greatest chance of getting sick with the virus and possibly spreading it to their families. Why are you so against fellow officers and employees knowing what their rights and options are? I think that you are just one of the sorry individuals who like to come on here and pick fights, disparage fellow officers, make up and/or spread hurtful rumors, hurt people's reputations and say hateful things. I'm glad that I posted info that may be of help to my fellow officers and employees and any hateful thing that you post doesn't change that.

Several things:
1) Yes, there are some who might take advantage.
2) Even so, the majority of personnel will do the right thing.
3) The majority who will do the right thing need to know what their rights are.
4) You are advocating keeping people in the dark so that some can't to advantage.
5) Sharing information with coworkers does not make me a crybaby or a winner.
6) Irregardless of what you may continue to post, I will not respond to any of your immature posts again.
