TPD was the arresting agency for Barrel Man today. Couldn't even arrest a suspect who literally deposited himself on your doorstep.

LMAO. I've heard that when they have to take enforcement action, like a trespass, they call Tallahassee PD to come out and do the arrest. So why are they sworn and getting high risk pay?
FDLE is such a joke, you can't even make this stuff up!
Also, they have agents that work stuff like Fraud or Agents that have never done any real police work that fall into details protecting the Governor... imagine if there is something that actually needs action there!

The general public and all would identify "Capitol Police" as a valid, visible entity guarding and protecting... The capitol!
Putting "FDLE Police" on everything is more of an attempt to validate those of lower ranks that work the lowest tier LEO jobs at the Capitol (Mall Security level, mind you) as Police Officers identify FDLE as an entity of certification and Criminal Justice records checks, Background checks, etc. Of course the Capitol guys feel better having the FDLE letters all over their gear!
But it doesn't change who they are and what they are.
You ever hear of the Capitol Police Officer who wore his SWAT outfit and gear to a multi-agency training class and was bragging and showing off his SWAT status... Yep. You can't make this stuff up!
And you know why, after all this time, this was changed? Guess who was in charge of the Capital Police at one time? You guessed it, the amazing, wonderful, and magically appointed Rick Swearingen!
Makes sense now!

Dennis Bustle (later SAC of JROC, husband of former FDLE Assistant Commissioner and DHSMV Executive Director Electra Bustle) was the Director of Capitol Police when the design was changed to just "FDLE Police". He also re-started the Capitol Police SRT and had them integrate with various ROC's SRTs during operations. Supposedly he wanted CP to be a fully-functioning police department for the Captiol Complex, Mansion and CCOC, to include traffic stops and basic pro-active policing.
Obviously his idea didn't come to fruition but possibly that was the impetus for the marking change on the cars and the SWAT-syle uniforms.
