The squads don’t have universal support. One city commissioner said dedicating a specialized team to enforce the quarantine order is a waste of police resources and verging on unconstitutional.

“At a time like this, this is not the best use of our first responders and scarce resources,” said Commissioner Ricky Arriola. “We have to remember this is a time for us to be coming together and not snitching on fellow Americans because we suspect that they might have the virus.”

Even Dan Oates would have gone off at the Commissioner for Markeing a statement like the “take one for the team” comment. Where was Clements? Smiling and laughing holding a cardboard sign sporting a Rolex during these hard times. He doesn’t get OT so it doesn’t bother him. To have us killing ourselves in order to not pay OT. Maybe he can watch a Sheriff Tony news conference and get some tips on what an Agency that practices “Family First”.

The sad thing is Commissioner R Arriola was backed by the police union. And I must say I was one of the union members that stood at city hall and held a sign for the A— Hole. Once again a politician can say and do what they want without any blow back and zero accountability. However let one of us make a mistake or say something that might offend someone and city hall is calling for our head.
