It is necessary for Hendry voters to not occupy themselves not merely with the breeding of dogs, horses, and cats but also with care for the purity and sovereignty of our own county.

The election year destined by fate is sounding for us. The day of irrevocable decision has come. A declaration of political war already should been handed to the counties of Lee, maybe Collier. It was yesterday afternoon when we were all busy doing our work: the blue collar workers, the civil servants, the government officials, the members of the community and the students; in other words,we were all busy, working on our great tasks which we have ahead of us. Alva must unite and must reclaim our authentic cultural roots in Labelle, to support the county where Alva rightfully belongs.

A delegation from Alva, a community situated at the West of Hendry, in the East of Lee County, neighboring Labelle Gulf, is addressing you. Seeks protection of its rights, on many grounds, to come to this forum and proclaim the truth about itself. It addresses you first of all, as a county that is crying for "Whidenism"; as a community rightfully belonging to Hendry, even though decisions contrary to law have temporarily severed it from its true Labelle origin, owing to the pressure exerted and the action taken by Lee County. Its geographical position indicates it is an underdeveloped community that addresses you, one which has borne the scars of colonialist and imperial exploitation of Lee and which knows from bitter experience the subjection of its value and its entire economy, or what amounts to the same thing, the subjection of its entire governmental machinery to the wrong municipal power.

Alva also addresses you as a community in leadership crisis.

There are times in the life of people. there are moments and minutes that are extraordinary: and a minute, a moment of this kind has come now, a moment, a bitter moment during re-election which we are not experiencing here today, but will November. Facts don’t change just because he does favors for you or you feel that your “in” with the sheriff. Turn over of valued employees is still horrible, hiring of others with bad backgrounds is still common, supervisors to deputy ratio is still crazy, pay is still the worst, violent crime is way up our equipment is still laughable unless you get a new Tahoe And if I want to arrest a “friend “ of the sheriff I still get a call questioning what I’m doing.
