City Of Miami Police Officers Step Up To Shop For Seniors! What a scam! My god stop 🛑

Let’s do the math! A doze police officer shopping for the elderly per min between getting the list, going to the grocery store, looking for the items, paying for it and dropping them off your talking about 3-4 hours. On an average officers salary $32 an hour X 12 officer. Uber eats or Amazon would had done it for $10 bucks

City Of Miami Police Officers Step Up To Shop For Seniors

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – City of Miami Police officers were out serving the community in a different way Tuesday morning.

Armed with hand sanitizer and a grocery list, these cops went shopping for those who are most vulnerable during the coronavirus pandemic.

Major Albert Guerra says they saw a need and stepped up.

Right now, even a simple shopping run can be frightening, or potentially dangerous, for the seniors in the community.

“The bulk of our work is to protect and serve, and we are just putting an exclamation point on the ‘service’ part,” says Guerra.

About a dozen officers each took a shopping list of five requested items from people at local nursing homes and headed out to Winn-Dixie.

“The officers being used for this are taking a lot of precautions like social distancing and wearing gloves,” Guerra explains. “They never actually have contact with any of the seniors. Once the items are purchased, they are taken back to the senior centers.”

The picked up things like waters, cleaning supplies, toiletries and some food items. Their work did not go unnoticed. Enclosed in one of the lists was a “thank you” note.

“That was unexpected,” Guerra says. “But it’s appreciated, and it’s very heartwarming for us. It just emphasizes for us that we are doing the right thing.”

Albert my friend i know you heard about delivery food services. Especially at your home. Stop living in the pass with the same social media scripts of cops going shopping at a store. FYI Cops are employed and have good paying jobs. You should have hired and paid out of your own pocket 20-30 Amazon Prime food delivery workers instead of wasting thousands of dollars on policy salaries. Wake up!!

The Cops are shopping for seniors who need hard to find essential items( prime or instacart doesn’t have now) and they are still on duty and ready to drop the shopping list and respond to a 3-15 or a critical incident. At least, the store didn’t get robbed while they were there.

Then do it without the God Damn cameras in tow!!!! Get the hell off social media. Your motives are all wrong. Quit acting like you are all saints doing gods work. You’re nothing but glory hounds trying your best to gain likes and comments. You’re nothing but the worlds ugliest, armed runway models.

The media is quick to do a bad story, why not do a good story to highlight the 1 percent of good things that police do.

Your numbers are wrong. The media is quick to highlight the 1% bad that happens. Usually by a negligent hire or retention issue that the department continuously turned a blind eye to. An overwhelming 99% is the good we do each and every day. That good does not need to be highlighted or showcased in some fake social media biosphere. Do your job without expectation of social reward. Do it for the paycheck you already receive. Then take ALL the wasted energy focused on the fake social media BS like coffee with a cop and all these “hey look at us being good humans” and redirect it towards eliminating the bad actors amongst our ranks. That is what builds community confidence. What good is this fake social media nonsense if we KNOWINGLY allow people to parade around in a uniform that shouldn’t so much be allowed to be a Walmart greeter. Stop kidding yourself, many see through the BS and ask themselves “would this feel good story happen if the cameras didn’t show up?” Sadly, I think not. These events are created to make someone else feel good, a moment to pound your chest or pat yourself on the back... the side effect is that someone else receives a small benefit. Often that benefit for the person in need pales in comparison to the that received by the social influencer.
