This will be compounded when the covid-19 hits the jail and infects most of the inmates. The entire place will be on lockdown, no in and no out. So exactly where are you supposed to bring new arrestees? I say Bob has plenty of room at his place. Once you lose the threat of arrest because you have no jail to take them to, you have zero power to enforce anything.

It is not going to matter where you put them. They and the staff that watch over them will get infected. Many will get infected and be released into the community. Bob will get blamed for the worst catastrophe to ever hit Pinellas County. That should play well about election time.

The jail medical staff are not trained or equipped to do that so the sick inmates would be sent to area hospitals guarded by deputies.

And when hospitals reach their capacities and stop accepting patients from the jails, what then? This is about to play out in NYC. Which one of you is going to volunteer to sit at the bedside of each infected person guarding them at the hospital? Do you realize how stupid you sound? Apparently, you, the PCSO and especially Bob have no clue what you are about to face.

Everyone is talking about patrol and the jail but what about civil? We do more work and come into contact with more people on a daily basis then anyone else at this agency!!

So the answer is to release all the inmates make no arrest and let all the staff go take a two week vacation.

Pretty much, yes.

1. Empty out at least half of the jail, only keeping violent offenders and defer prosecutions. The court's are closed anyway. All other inmates should be spaced out every other cell, given cleaning/hygiene supplies and the ability to keep to themselves.

2. End all training, meetings, let non-essential staff stay home. Maybe even close down north station.

3. Suspend all traffic contact. Pull people over, keep your distance, tell them to please stop whatever it is they are doing and move on. Yes, actually ask nicely. You may be surprised at the results you can get from not acting like an asshole.

4. There should also be a ban on people from out of state booking rooms in hotels and resorts. When NYC implodes in about 3 weeks there will be thousand of NY refugees heading here and hundreds of them will be infected. Unless they are staying at their own places or with family, they should not be welcome in Pinellas County. And this goes for people from every other "hot spot" as well. Just like getting the word out that beaches were closed to prevent more spring breakers from coming here, we should immediately put plans in place to prevent corona-refugees from flooding into Florida and Pinellas County.

But they won't. Bob will wait until it is too late, just like all of the other "leaders", and you will pay the price.

Look what TPD is going through right now and it's only the beginning. Same thing will happen here if this foolishness continues. People's lives and public safety will be on the line. Bob's precious political career will be on the line as well but that's the least of our worries.
