People need to stop supporting police officers and the members of the public who pay for police officers from getting in trouble for stupid things. The fact that those idiots that got in a fight a Dixie might lose their job is ridiculous. The history and current behavior of our Lts and command staff is no better or worse. DAs across the country are being elected on overturning old convictions on minor charges. The next generation of police officers will be literally born on social media. Why don't we spend out time and resources not getting people and each other in trouble for ridiculous things. The Chief calls for 'empathy' and then boasts and at promotion ceremonies of going to on a pub crawl. Other members have and do far worse, drunk drivings etc. These morons in the Cape case should be disciplined and grow from the situation not crucified. All that is teaching everyone is never own up to a mistake. Its the equivalent of us not chasing fleeing vehicles. I understand that that they shouldn't make the mistake in the first place, but we can only recruit from the human race, and humans are and will continue to be fallible.

Intoxicated, battery, sorry you are wrong, not all of us behave that way, grow up and stop acting like a teenager, drinking at some dump and getting into a physical altercation, these are the kind of people we have to deal with every night, we should be better and more professional than that

Don't blame the media. Start at the top over at city council. They approved the hiring of the idiot currently in charge of FMPD. He was not even the first choice. Then they give him an unlimited budget and tell him to hire and pay whatever he wants to his command staff and create BS spots that are clearly not needed. Then the blind fool makes a ton of bad promotions (look around, seriously look around). And now to hiring practices, if you have been at FMPD for more than twenty minutes you know the standards have dropped. Although there are quality officers. FMPD is also just filling spots. Ney, but violent crime is down over 400%. Wake up city hall!

The city is more concerned about hiring based on diversity then actual quality employees. The current chief has just sped up this process, if your darker skinned, female, speak another language, then this place will hire you

I heard Anthony Thomas is just waiting for the results of his polygraph. He will then be sworn in the spot O'Reily turned down.

Bottom line don’t go to bars that are known for trouble and fights. When a fight or trouble starts brewing you just leave. Not worth the trouble.
