    Call it what you want

The Sheriff’s Office needs a plain clothes unmarked vehicle unit with enough deputies to effectively address the on going murderous violence. It will be messy and unusual incident emails will be frequent. People will get hurt but eventually the violence will subside. So Sheriff, and Chip what are you willing to do? Haines needs to sit this one out as he only hunts deputy’s not criminals. Oops I’m sorry deputies who don’t do what he wants. MY you will be a CMDR as soon as you do TY.

Well, we used to have a street crimes unit. Wait....that got disbanded! We used to have a tac unit. Wait....that also went the way of the dinosaur. We used to have a helicopter. Yep....GONE. nice going thelbert! These would all have been excellent tools to combat the surge in violence we're seeing. Of course, you're not going to admit that we have an issue! Are you?

Nope. He will never admit there is a problem. One of the commissioners is going to stop his spending until they meet and discuss the shootings/drug/gang problem. Morgan doesn’t like anyone questioning his motives or authority. Morgan blames the commissioners and he also blames the public. Morgan says giving money to the non profits gets kid involved and keeps them out of trouble. That’s why he was giving money to the Christian Surfers. Morgan is a joke.

Hey Chip. How bout you pull AH out of your a$$ and assign him and Ingram to do some real work for once in their careers and have someone show them how to be investigators and help out doing some follow ups and solve some of these shootings. There are 2 do nothing employees right there that could be put in investigations. Make all of your colonels and majors and whatever else you have up there do the job of the Sgt and Lt and put the Sgt and Lt that are in Inv out in the field to solve these crimes. All of this admin staff is bull sh$t.
Show everyone you have what it takes to make the necessary changes and get things going in the right direction.

Interesting since Ingram and crime scene and evidence were doing more to look into gun violence with IBIS and tracing guns putting a little bit of two and two together until Pinney gets embarrassed and complains like a little kid. Out of petty little disagreements IBIS technology free of charge is gone. Well done fisherman. Go cry to Gilmore since everyone hurts your little feelings and instead of doing your job you run around as a snitch. Spend that time doing your job. You get your money’s worth out of Ingram and his staff every day. AH doesn’t have the ability to investigate anything but a plate of food. Anyone who works around Ingram respects him. Anyone around Pinney knows he is lazy and filled with spite AH is anyone’s guess as to what function he has I don’t know if he has a law enforcement thought ever

Another in Montclair yesterday. Eight shootings in ten days! Same standard line for all, 'no suspects.' Morgan blames people not talking and the decay of society. Yes, there is a moral decay of society and it is difficult when the public wont assist you. Witnesses are a key cornerstone! However, the time for excuses needs to end! You are ELECTED thelbert! You have to produce results! Maybe if you hadn't (figuratively) beaten the hell out of your troops, they would be better off! 'Our Sheriffs Office' (as you call it thelbert) is BETTER than this! We are better than excuses! DO NOT blame 'society' until you have done every possible thing that you can as the head law enforcement officer! You pissed away some great resources (TAC, street crimes, etc) and refuse to tune up others. You run people off! Also, has anyone else noticed that Chip is surprisingly M.I.A. on camera all the sudden? I guess when it could look bad for his campaign he stays away! Oh, he's front and center for every puff piece and shred of good news there is, but not for the hard questions. Again, a clear view of his character for everyone to see!!! Success has many fathers; failure is an orphan! Chip, you are in charge of OPS now. You and your flunkies read this board. There are a lot of great ideas presented here. Instead of smack talking, maybe use some of these ideas! Sooner or later, one of our deputies will get hurt if we dont get a handle on this! It will progress! Legitimate citizens will get caught in the crossfire.

You can do that all you want but unless there’s an investigator to wrap up the case after the initial arrest many of them will bond out and never go back in. Get rid of the two in gun crimes and make two investigators assigned to the protective unit. It won’t be JP since most of the hours would be after 1600

That’s ridiculous the unit could tie up loose ends too no need for more investigators. Just like the original street crimes. They accomplished a lot. Where’s the precious hip unit in all this. Working gigs?

HIP started off great. Horse of many colors so to speak. Sometimes in uniform, sometimes plain clothes in unmarked units. They went where the demand was. It has just gotten.....not good as it has developed. Never where they need to be. Part of the issue is that they will take anyone who is interested. Tbey were pretty picky when it was first developed. Now it's not all the dedicated folks it started with.

Nobody follows up on anything except the narcotics referrals. If only we had some unit that would take information about guns and gang members. Maybe if they interviewed some of the people HIP catches and tried to get information from them to figure out who the violent people are before they kill.

Why don’t we have a unit like that?
