Was Javier Ortiz ROD'd when he chased down and arrested at gun point animal rights activist Arnold Christopher Lagergren in Key Largo back in 2012?

Ortiz was off duty, out of his jurisdiction and Mr Lagergren had not committed a violent felony and did not pose an immediate threat to the community as he was only charged with four misdemeanor counts of trespass and vandalism.

Officer Arana should make his attorney aware of this incident as it shows selective enforcement on the part of the City.

Was he in his police vehicle blocking the roadway. They said on the news they had the roadway blocked. I was just wondering why some many emails being sent out about take home vehicles.

He was in an unmarked City vehicle.......Javier Ortiz, described in a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office report as an off-duty Miami police sergeant, was volunteering Saturday with the conservancy when he blocked Lagergren’s car and pulled a gun on the suspect. Monroe County Court Judge Regan Ptomey set bonds totaling $30,000 on the four charges, according to court records.

“This is a very politically charged situation, obviously,” said Richard Wunsch, Lagergren’s defense attorney.

“It does raise concerns,” Wunsch said. “Anybody would wonder how you get hit with a $30,000 bond on four misdemeanors after being arrested by an armed guy 100 miles from his jurisdiction.”

If you read the reports in this case there appears to be an overcharge, with statements that were not consistent
