Broward Sheriff’s Office is a comparable law enforcement organization to Miami-Dade and they have a part time team. I don’t see the need to have SRT full time anymore it’s not like they are constantly serving warrants like back in the 90s

We all know SRT can run circles around PRT. The problem is PRT showed up before SRT even put on their boots. What would you rather have, a Honda sitting in the driveway or a BMW in the shop?

SRT may have elevated themselves out of a functional job and now PRT, for better or worse, is filling the void. SRT better rethink it's core functions if they are to remain relevant in this post MSD era.

It’s a source of pride for the department. Although may be an out dated concept now. I doubt we will see it change anytime soon.
Break them both down, SRT and PRT, put them at the district level. Faster response times and they can still go to training, no need for full time prima Donna's

Kinda hard not to justify deploying an additional 120 officers on the road when you total up PRT & SRT. 2024 will make us look bad and an outsider will win if this isn’t addressed by then.

Back in the day, they executed several warrants a day (except fridays). They would cry like babies if you requested them on Friday. But now, there just isn’t the amount of pro activity. So maybe they need to reduce the size. There have been NUMEROUS attempts to have them assist the road and RID over the years. Always the same result, they did nothing! That’s the truth!

They did nothing and got away with it that’s why it didn’t work because I’m sure if they got written up or ROD they would have starting working real hard

Wouldn’t happen. No district road supervisor is going to write up an SRT unit for being / doing nothing.

What a bunch of haters! Why stop at SRT. Why not send other specialized units as well? Amof, send in the investigative units too.

They are actually working cases instead of just working out. No SWAT unit needs to be full time anymore with the fear of liability these days they barely serve warrants. Their only purpose now is incidents that require a tactical response.
