    Major Robert Chandler

Who allowed Major Robert Chandler to speak at Trooper Bullock's service? Jesus Christ. What an absolute embarrassment.

This service is NOT ABOUT YOU, MAJOR. At least you were finally upfront and honest about your drinking problem, but this DEFINITELY was NOT the proper way, nor an appropriate venue in which to do so. What in the world would possess you to think that a rambling speech about your "best friend Jack" and all the "diet Coke" you drink (read Jack and Coke) would be appropriate for a memorial service for a fallen brother?!? You ought to be ashamed of yourself. The rest of us are certainly embarrassed and mortified by your "speech."

Do us all a favor and retire. Or better yet, maybe Tallahassee will finally take notice and do something, since you so thoroughly embarrassed yourself and the agency in front of the entire command staff, while being live steamed for the whole world to watch.

That's what happens when you promote a truck inspector to a troop commander position in FHP.

Sad to say but Robert Chandler was hired by FHP, not DOT. He only transferred to CVE for a short time until he was forced back to patrol ops. He’s a self centered egotistical idiot that needs to go.

Feckless moron, that's for sure. But Tallahassee won't do anything to him. He's one of them.

The moron admitted that he didn't know Joe. How do you have someone under your command on a troop level and not know them? That speaks volumes about him.... OIG eat as well if I'm not mistaken as well as a meteoric rise to the top with virtually no road time.

    A little judgmental

Having the responsibility of Troop Major is not an easy job. Loosing someone under your command, even if you didn't know them personally is a hard pill to swallow. I would not want to get up there in front of the masses and try to make any sense of what happened. Expressing ones self under extreme conditions can lead to someone not thinking clearly and not expressing themselves as others may expect. It is easy to be critical when you remain unknown.

Not sure what facts you are talking about, but Chandler went from being a Troop Sergeant to OIG LT to CVE Captain to CVE Major. Heard he wasn’t cutting it as CVE Major so he was moved to Troop L where he walks around ignoring most troopers. All the Captains were promoted out of OIG.

He should be fired. But in true GHQ fashion, nothing will happen to him.
