There are Republican moderates and independents out there that do support some reasonable progressive ideas. Just like there are Democrats that are staunch 2nd Amendment proponents. IMO Chad is trying to simply stay in the middle of the road. He hasn't gone full retard like some other Sheriff's (Alachua county) have.

If you do some research on Pruitt, it can be understood he would probably destroy the SO. Look at his YouTube video where he berated a deputy for their involvement in a crash. Are things perfect, no place is perfect. Could things be improved, sure they can. Pruitt May not be the savior some people on this board portray him to be. This non-connected patrol deputy is voting for the Sheriff in 2020. Politics aside, I believe in what he stands for and where his heart is. It’s going to take some time for him and the chief to get us where we need to be as an agency.
