Considering Patrol is the elite of the agency and D&C is the red-headed step child, 3rd class employees, there is more nit picking and complaints from patrol than from D&C on this forum. D&C is a real sh****le to work in, logically, it should have the majority of the complaints here. Either Patrol has more crybabies, incompetents and prima donnas than D&C or D&C has a bunch of morons who can't think critically, are too desperate for a paycheck and fail to appreciate the cess pool they work in, so they don't complain. To an outsider, Patrol seems to be a dumpster fire while D&C looks squared away. comparatively speaking, plus nowhere near as much bi****ng. Good for D&C recruitment, not so good for Patrol. Maybe if Patrol was run like D&C the members would be more satisfied and happy with their work.

Please stopping smoking whatever you are doing right now. 18 years in D&C's and this is the worse c**p show I have ever seen. Morale is gone, leadership is non-existent, and the majority of staff has little to no life experience. The jail sucks and will continue to suck. Don't try and start yet another fight between patrol and the jail. They do what they do and the realistic of us at the jail don't want their job. Stay low and stay safe on either side of the job.

The sheriff should find a proven problem solver who thinks outside the box and put him/her in charge of the jail to determine what caused the drop in morale. Then present the report to the sheriff and figure out ways to fix morale and whatever other issues may be in order to improve retention and recruitment. There is a crisis of leadership and morale at the jail with no solution is sight so effective action is needed now.
