Racial Slur is a racial Slur, is a racial Slur
Lets see a white official says the NWord.......is a apology all that is necessary? See, just the utterance of these words without context and intent should never be the basis for discipline or firings. With that said, many people have been fired from their jobs for the exact same things. Let this be the standard for any other case of a similiar nature. Apologize is all that's required now. Call it the Gudes Rule.

Where are all of the daily I'm offended groups at? See, weaponizing words and being selectively outraged when only certain groups are guilty is the essence of a double standard. Whats the Mayor's take on this? Would she have severely disciplined or fired a police officer for the same offense? See, the real problem here is a minority used a racial slur. Somehow that is not equal to when a mere white guy utters the N word and gets fired. The press release, the city of Tampa will not tolerate slurs of any kind. Apparently you do, just depends on the race of the offender.

Media needs to request the “honorables” comments from the officer of the month ceremony for the African american officer who works in SIMU a few months back. I was flipping channels and saw a rerun. His racist remarks in the council chambers were shocking!!

Absolutely disgusting.
So now he is going to use his racist comment as an opportunity to educate everyone else. Amazing.
Thank you Viera for standing up. Has anyone heard any other council member speak up yet???

Why is the Mayor not asked about this? Perfect time to show that if firing everybody else for a similar incident is what she would do, then why this exception?

Liberal politicians with the full support of their media protectors ignore the issue and hopes it goes away. Exactly how they are handling this.
