At is agency we get the absolute worse of both worlds. Being that patrol is divided into 5 smaller districts, each district is run like your typical small agency with all the nepotism and favoritism. However, the executive staff, well above the district command staff, is detached from us and has its own set of people they hire bypassing the chain of command or the fast trackers they push. The executive staff looks out for itself while the lower commands look out for themselves and their favorites. All while the front line workers get made examples of and treated with no mercy. I wonder if a giant walk out would fix this?

In the end, this agency claims to be progressive, one of the largest in the nation, 170 years old, and all that crap, yet it lets simple problems like crazy people, bums, short staffing, mass resignations, other agencies, and basic criminal issues run circles around it. Where are all the seasoned cops? Why are rookies training rookies? Why does no one opt to grow, evolve, and advance here?
