County Commission is liberal Democrat and pro-union. They would never approve it. Not gonna ever ever happen. Not worth even debating.

Are you suggesting that jails should be abolished because they are a waste of money? Or just the personnel who staff the jails? And if you eliminate those who staff the jails, then who will operate the jails?

Privatize the jails! No need for taxpayers to pay the load. Jails? Yes. But, no reason it can’t be privatized.

Plus, you’ll get employees with a higher IQ than what works there now.

If taxpayers are not supporting privatized jails, then who is? Where is the money coming from?

It’s pretty much a done deal... preliminary figures show that the privatization will save the taxpayers almost 90 million dollars a year. Everything is on the downlow until Prison Corp has enough employees trained and hired to take over corrections. Once the announcement is made, current corrections employees will be considered for employment with the company. So far, this is about the only thing that Tony has done to help the taxpayers of Broward County.
