    Question Regarding Job Duties

I applied for the Investigative Specialist II position and I have an upcoming interview. I have tried to do my due diligence but the ABT website doesn't have much to offer. I understand the duties of the job and found some information from ABT (older threads), questions people asked in the past.

I have alot of experience in LE and I was fortunate to have had a good ride, and no regrets. The job, tools of the trade changed alot from 1995 to the present.....sorry I didn't mean to get off topic. I am done being a cop....time to move on.

I want to really know what this job is from those who do it or have done it. I worked for a State Regulatory Commission in the past (out of state) that is similar to ABT. I started reading chapters 20.165, 210, 561 - 565, 567 - 569, & 943 to be prepared.

I apologise in advance if I am asking a question that was previously answered and my thanks to whoever responds.

The IS II is a non-sworn position within ABT. As an "Inspector" your only responsibility will be to visit licensed locations and verify the locations are i compliance with Florida Law. Inspectors use an iPad to run through preloaded checklists to ask specific questions and record the answers electronically. Violations result in a Notice to Comply or an Administrative Case. That will be your core responsibility and occasionally you will do "Other Related Duty."
You will be able to leave your home in a state issued car to begin your day. The evaluation is set up in such a way that you need to knock out about one inspection an hour to stay off the radar. They will supply you with a uniform which is 5.11 Pants and ABT polo. The pants are khaki but you usually get to pick the polo colors. Stay away from blue or you will look just like a Walmart or Best Buy employee!
It is a good low speed low drag job and we have many retired LEO doing it.

Not much to add. You will be supervised by a LT, your hours are 8-5 with rare exception, you will need to live within 50 miles of the office and the startpay is not negotiable. It's a good job especially for retired people. Especially for retired cops.

Honestly depends what office you go to. Some you start the day from your house and have some flexibility with the schedule. Some offices require you to be at the office at 8am daily to start your day. Welcome to ABT, consistency is non existent
