This is going to take years and the whole community to fix. EVERYONE has to do their part and care and work hard and together. Do you think that your two fisherman in gun crimes work hard or care or will work with others? Fire them. How about MG up in investigations? Time to go and maybe loose some weight too. RR? Does he care or is he purposefully seek good in others and the community? Fire him. I could go on and on. Haines? Remove him as disgracefully as possible to enhance morale.

It is sad that this place has gotten to a point that we need wholesale complete removal of all command staff. Who up there is viable to remain with Simmons post election as they hated and opposed him before he got here and have mocked him behind his back and turned this place into a disaster.

Morale is going to take a long time to deal with. The violent crime and guns can be dealt with. Immediately remove Pinney and Timo. Hand pick at least five deputies who have shown a willingness to work and who are respected in the agency. If possible pick deputies without young children and no off duty extra jobs. Have a prosecutor assigned and if possible a SAO investigator an FDLE agent assign someone from narcotics and property crime. Move thus task force out from under Gilmore and put it in direct chain of command to Chip so he owns it. Get someone or many from agencies who have had success in the implementation of plans with proven success and bring them in and spend 30 days developing a plan train this group. Get some motivated ATF and FBI in this group and run it for 365 days

What is it that Chip is supposed to do?

Seriously? He is in charge of operations. He needs to at a minimum to make suggestions to Morgan about what needs to be done. It might be true that his hands are tied but if he was attempting to do something it would get out. As it stands now he wants us to support him and hang in there till November but it doesn’t appear he is going to do anything different or make any changes.
Some of us want to work here and some don’t have a choice. But we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t. There is no support from the admin or supervisors. It’s all about watching your back. They don’t want us to get into anything because it will reflect on them and then we all have to suffer the wrath of Haines. And why try to do a good job and be successful when people are “promoted “ strictly for being loyal to the sheriff. Does Chip realize the morale problem those promotions caused? If Chip doesn’t make some changes he will lose this department and the support of his deputies at day one. If the sheriff’s actions showed that he cared about the employees at the department I believe it would make a difference and people would be willing to go the extra mile. But he doesn’t. That is VERY obvious. Chip needs to learn from Morgan’s mistakes and correct them immediately .

Anyone would be better than Pinney and send he and Timo to the court house on a new midnight shift just walking around the building. Closest they come to that building anyway since they can’t make a case. Ever seen Pinney testify? No better comedy anywhere except it is sad to watch.

Pinney claims Gilmore won’t let him do what he needs to do to investigate gun crime and that he needs more people and wishes he could replace Timo. Thought Timo was his boy until you hear him down him
