Oh, please, not the lies about the FLHIA shooting and the MSDHS shooting again. Look, both of these incidents were investigated to death. And here is what was found.

In the FLHIA shooting, an airline gave a pistol and ammo to a passenger inside the terminal without notifying the BSO. The first that the Sheriff's office knew of the gun in the terminal, was when the shooting was already underway. The shooter was immediately taken into custody. An HOUR later, a Customs employee reported shots fired in the garage. This was somehow picked up by the public, at the scene, and a panic ensued. There was literally nothing the Sheriff or his deputies could do to stop it. Can you imagine the screaming the press would have done if the BSO had used force to contain the panic?

MSDHS was, again, not the fault of the Sheriff or any of his deputies. First, the agency responsible for the security of the high school, the BCSB, did not secure the facility against intrusion by an armed individual. Also, the shooter was seen by three teachers, acting as security personnel, who knew him walking on campus with a clearly recognizable rifle case, before the shooting, and did not notify the officer or the school resource officer. The SRO did not even know of the potential shooter until after the shooting had started. He arrived at the scene as the last casualties on the first floor were occurring. Whether he should have entered alone is questionable, but was not shown to have been a decisive factor in the casualties on the third floor. The responding deputies arrive to a Chinese clusterf**k, as most of these situations are, four minutes after the shooting started. By the time they got organized, the shooting had stopped and the shooter was leaving the campus. The entire shooting incident took only 5 minutes. With the shooting over, the protocol changes to contain and locate in a hostage situation. There were additional problems with that, largely due to surveillance equipment of the BCSB which showed the shooter still roaming the halls. This was complicated by actions of Fire/Rescue, who wanted to enter the shooting scene without it having been cleared and then complaining of this after words. It is amazing that an organization which will not enter a riot zone to fight active fires without LE escort and protection suddenly wanted to run into a potential active shooter situation to aid casualties did not even know about.

What happened with MSDHS was that the media and some other people wanted a scapegoat, for the shooting, other thn the shooter. And, nobody wanted to be that scapegoat. Not, the BCSB, the BSO, Fire/Rescue or even CSPD. So, they all either hunkered down and said nothing, or pointed to the Sheriff. When this was investigated by the Senates Special Master, after the Sheriff's suspension, he stated that the the Sheriff, Scott Israel, was not guilty of any of the charges laid against him and that his agency had acted in accordance with LE protocols universally held by LEAs in Florida. Then, the Senate totally ignored their own Special Master and hosed Israel and the voter of Broward County by upholding the suspension and removing Israel from office. It must have been a real challenge for cameramen in the Senate to keep the Senators in frame with all the bounding around being done in that kangaroo court.

Voters in Broward are not stupid. They know that they were hosed. They know that the state Senate hosed them, by nullifying their votes for Israel.They also have a pretty good idea that none of the candidates is qualified to run a 6000 member agency with a $1 billion dollar budget. This race will come down to Israel and Tony in the Dem primary. No one else has any real chance. And, Tony is doing exactly the same things that anti-Israel factions have criticized Israel for [such as turkey giveaways and church appearances] in order to get elected. So, birds of a feather?

I voted for S. Israel in 2016. The senate nullified my vote; and I'm glad they did. He is responsible for being a participant in Obama style juvenile policy that got children killed. It's the fault of voters for voting in liberals, myself as well for buying into the ideology. I can admit that, but the arrogant narcissist has failed to. Had he come out and said " We need to take a look at how we FAILED and make major changes" he'd still have my support. Buddies of Runcie, Rozzie and Thompson are DOOMED at the polls. Even the black community wants them out. Scott should stop preaching to the choir and talk to those who don't plan to vote for him and ask exactly why. The "disenfranchised voter" schpeel netted $300 last month. It's a losing strategy. He's not black. No one cares that he was railroaded.
