Leavens for Lee Fails to Qualify Signature Cards

Inside sources from within the Leavens for sheriff camp have reluctantly confirmed Leavens has failed to garner the required 4500 Republican voter signatures to qualify as a candidate as opposed to paying the required $8,500 fee to the Lee County Supervisor of Elections. With 5 months to submit the required cards which must all be individually certified, it's dubious Leavens will be able to qualify this way and will have to submit the $8,500 fee, a tall feat for the little known candidate who has been unable to raise any sizable money or momentum as a serious candidate.

Top political advisers say Leavens has virtually no chance of mounting a formidable challenge to the incumbent sheriff who has acquired an impressive and unseen war chest of political funds and media coverage. As opposed to previous sheriff races, Leavens has no visible or known support from within the agency or the community to speak of. Many speculate Leavens seriously misjudged his platform and chances of running for sheriff and may continue to self fund his race in hopes of running for another political position in the future.

That all sounds nice, this sheriff is being removed. It might not be Leavens but it won’t be this guy.

Leavens has plenty of support from inside the lcso. The supporters are just quiet about it. But come voting day they will show up. If Leavens needs 8500 to stay in the race. I will personally take out a loan to make sure he is our next Sheriff.

What is the real reason for a candidate to stay in the race at this point? If you can't even qualify via signatures you absolutely can t win an election

It's getting close. Leavens still can't qualify via signature cards. Either Carbone has to write a check for $8,500 or...………………………………………………….
