Possession
So I’m confused by the pba email about possession. What’s the argument and what do they want in writing?

Different offices are being told different things. UAP is either a primary or secondary thing depending on the office or the whim of the LT capt or maj, no one really knows. By having a document you can pull out later when everyone forgets what was said, grief is avoided.

I think it’s pretty clear. There is no mention of possession anywhere in your eval so it’s no longer a primary function, and if your boss is telling you otherwise maybe you should point out to him the new eval?

Why do you need a letter telling you to listen to your boss and do your job. Yes possession is not on the eval but the eval also doesn’t contain tons of other things we do. Your paid 160 hours a pay period to work. If your captain says go work possession you go work possession. It doesn’t matter what another office is doing.

Why doesn’t the union do something useful liek fight for higher pay. The higher ups lie to us and say only legislature can give us a raise yet it’s a proven fact other agencies have gotten significant raises from their own agencies finding the money within the budget.
They can also fight to preserve our off duty rights since there will be significant changes coming very soon that will impact off duty as we know it.

This is a common misconception. You have to work 160 hours every 28 days. If you are told to do surveys on Monday Wednesday and Friday, you can't say in any defendable way, that you have all the surveys you need for the year. It doesn't matter what the evaluation rates you on. If you are told to work underage at the beach, that is what you will do doing. It's not hard work. Do it and shut up about it. Once again for the short bus riders-you are going to do things that aren't on the evaluation. You want to be on a schedule and be told what you will be doing every day? Keep it up with the "it's not on my evaluation nonsense"
