    Position Information

I am also interested in HCSO. Will they sponsor non-certified at the academy? Do they pay while trainees are at the academy? What are the shifts like? What hours? Do deputies rotate shifts monthly? Is there a lot of micro-managing going on or does the brass leave you alone as long as you do your job? I am interested in the good, the bad, and the ugly. Thanks for the info.

Wauchula PD gets more money and has a better retirement. They get a City employee retirement and a second, police officer retirement. 4 hours OT built into every paycheck. Very good, new equipment. Most importantly, morale is better and administration is better and has your back. Haven't heard of any IA's at WPD in quite awhile, meanwhile the SO, they're flying around like crazy. The SO will ruin your career if you just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Stop messing with these silly little agencies. Go to Polk. Better pay, kick ass Sheriff and almost unlimited possibilities to work in if you get tired of the road.
