Dayum, another Hendry County Deputy in the news for the wrong reason
This time the truth behind the HCSO Watch Commander comes out. How many is this now that Steve has promoted to supervisory positions that have serious marks on their record? Weathers, Rowan, Beatty, Rowe, McNeil, Hester and now Favara.

"Once fired for taking evidence from homicide investigation, video shows deputy using slur. He's now a Hendry County watch commander"
"Now a lieutenant and watch commander, it's been quite a meteoric rise for Michael Favara after being fired 12 years ago by the same agency for removing evidence from a homicide investigation. Favara regained his job at the Sheriff's Office in 2009 after Whidden defeated former Sheriff Ronnie Lee in the November 2008 election by 14 votes."
"The Sheriff's Office did not respond to questions about Whidden's supposition as to why Favara used the racial slur, under what circumstances the term would be acceptable to use or why no substantive action was taken."
"After the man asks him what he was lying about, Favara doesn't say what is inaccurate and responds, "Don't worry about it. I'll make up my own story."
"Whidden also never addressed Favara's remarks about making up a story."
"Favara was fired 12 years ago by a different administration at the Sheriff's Office after an internal affairs investigation found him guilty of negligence and evidence processing violations connected to a murder case."

Don't forget Sergeant McNeil-
"Also on the Hendry County Sheriff's Office's payroll is Darrin McNeil, who was fired from Moore Haven Correctional Institution in 2013."
"Records from the state's Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission show McNeil was fired because he "used (a) racial slur toward (an) inmate, resulting in a use-of-force incident by back-up officers."

How bout the department AR 15 that walked away from an unlocked department vehicle
Goes on vacation for 2 weeks, leaves evidence related to a homicide in trunk of car "forgot it", didn't think it was important. What about that department AR...? Wasn't that left unsecured in a department vehicle and it was discovered dissappeared... Then there's the time....

I don't care if it is political or not. These are facts and they should be known. Steve Whidden is responsible for hiring and promoting these people that have now been exposed for lying, being racists, being fired by other departments, being on the Brady list, forgery, having sex with informants and more. These things involve 7, yes 7 of our supervisors. That's shameful for any sheriff's office and even more so for one so small as HCSO. Now I have been able to not just confirm what I had heard but see actual documentation and videos backing it up. Even if you do not believe the journalist, the documentation, video and audio comes from other sources including law enforcement and our own Curtis Clay. They exist. Read them, watch them and listen to them. Facts

Racist, why do you label anything supposedly wrong as "black"?
Interesting choice of words. "ashamed" of "black eyes". Why not just "shame" Seems like our county has some civil rights issues.. exploiting at risk women using power, hiring documented racists, evidence and witness tamperers, forgers and public aid thiefs. Funny how one deputy of color gets fired for relationship drama, but another who whose dozen page sustained across the board IA report from Collier county where that (now Lt here..) was hired here after resigning from Collier under investigation...
