Be careful how we proceed. Rocco helped London hijack the city and look at the disaster they’ve created. It’s looking like history is about to repeat itself with the union. Everything Rocco touches turns to shit. Just saying.

Beware of the FOP! The BSO LT's switch over and are greatly disappointed. The FOP does not provide attorneys for negotiations so we had to negotiate our own contract and it was a nightmare. Also if your involved in a shooting or criminal/ civil charges are brought against you the FOP has a cap on coverage of $20,000. Do you know how fast $20,000 goes with an attorneys at an hourly rate of $400.00? Very Fast and once it's gone you're responsable to pay for the remainder of your legal expenses out of your own pocket. When our contract is up we are switching to IUPA. They provide a labor attorney to negotiate their contracts and they have no cap or limit on legal coverage for shootings and criminal and civil. I wish you the best of luck but be careful with you pick as your union.

With the FOP we control our own destiny. Unlike what we must do what PBA wants and they have no interest in our agency. FOP would be by us for us.

With IUPA, they will charter us with our own Local Union the Hallandale Beach Police Officer Association and we would elect our own executive board to manage and run our Union. That means when issues arise we have control and make the decisions on which direction our union takes. Also, they allow us to have our own treasury so we have money that our local controls. We can use this money to help fellow officers, use it for a Christmas Party or like BSO have food delivered to those who are working on Thanksgiving. With IUPA our local will have the ability to make our own political endorsements as well. This along with a Labor Attorney at the table to negotiate our contract and no caps on legal coverage like the FOP ($20,000) how can you not support the switch to IUPA?

FOP is a big mistake. If you leave PBA, it should be for IUPA. Those extra fees and making you pay out of pocket and other FOP nightmare stories are true.

Rocco is a buck up. He gets all of his ideas from Scarducci and box of rocks Rivera. Neither one speaks understandable english so wtf are they actually talking about,

FOP is just PBA with different initials. Not much in the way in coverage (Legal defense is capped at 20,000 which wont get you past the first deposition). IUPA's legal defense fund is 30 million dollars strong with no cap on legal defense. IUPA carries you from critical incident to civil court.

IUPA also provides attorneys for all negotiations and impact bargaining sessions. FOP often provides Business agents or senior patrol officers to negotiate. Something to think about.

PBA/FOP = same thing just less legal coverage and you do all the work.

Something had to be done. City is straight up trying to f*ck us and we can’t let that happen and PBA hasn’t done much about it.

Don’t blame the PBA. The problem is Rod!
