Every time someone describes this as a bad thing I have to wonder. I mean, do you really want Captain FatAss hanging around? That sounds like a plus. That’s not why PRT is done. It’s done because they don’t really have a specific purpose and have failed to earn the respect and trust of the officers around them. PRT is just a way to get the friends and family members a cushy “unit” that will keep them from getting any dirt under their fingernails. This comes with he blessing of the highest of higher ups, of course. Years ago they would have become another 09-39 unit, like SPORT. It’s like whatever. Who cares.
