From what the media has published thus far, what MDPD experienced on December 7th, was a glaring absence of supervision and command.

Training Bureau, you have your work cut out for you. *Using the UPS chase and shooting dynamics, develop a mandatory tabletop exercise for Lieutenants, as Lieutenants are most likely to be on-duty when this type of scenario erupts. *Captains and higher command officers should attend to refresh their tactical memories.* This type of training should be collated into an instructional template and disseminated to Lieutenants upon their promotions.* While it is true that most plans failed when the offenders do not follow the script, at least the involved Lieutenants will have a model designed to prevent what transpired on December 7th.* *Key engaging MDPD's Air Unit to assume command of the chase, procuring Spikes, or another vehicle stopping devices.* To stop most violent drivers, engaged in reckless and dangerous driving, it is time for MDPD to train and institute the Pursuit Intervention Technique.* Once the subjects' vehicle is stopped, supervisors must ensure discipline in establishing a safety perimeter, evacuating innocent bystanders, whether pedestrians or motorists.* *Then negotiate, negotiate, negotiate until the offender(s) surrender, or SRT neutralizes then.***Ancillary, setting up a staging area for Fire Rescue, PIO-Media senior command personnel, concerned civilians.*

Then, after this training, fire every single officer that didn’t listen to the commands given over the radio by these highly trained lieutenants and higher right? Fire them on the spot, no bargaining allowed.

I like your thinking. It’s somewhat thought out and obviously previous law enforcement or current. Old thinking behavior bc most newbies do not know the PIT. As that has whirlwind around the talks of the older generations for this very discussed incident. That too would’ve never ended well either for the UPS victim. Imagine a properly executed PIT on the UPS truck, (doors open, no seatbelts, weight of the truck) you would’ve had the same outcome. ALL parties deceased on the scene. What a vision that would be as well on LIVE TV with bodies being ejected out of both doors. Unfortunately, for Mr. Ordonez the outcome was always grim!!! In a perfect world we would’ve seen him walk out alive, however, in a perfect world, those animals that took him hostage determined his deadly fate!!
