Experienced deputies that come at this job from common sense is seen as a bad thing. They want submissives. Who do you want responding to you as a victim? Someone who has been on the job a long while who will be fair and use their life skills and common sense? Or some kid thats itching to get noticed with stats and clawing for approval recognition transfers. And for what? To drown in cases or go back to nights for years? Its fake. Watch the bay area news even out of town news. Look at the hot scenes. Officers from other agencies are all older seasoned cops. Watch us. All rookies. Why? Turnover? Where do our seasoned deputies go? Why cant they settle in, grow, and age here? Successful profitable businesses know the answer well because these things are a priority. We have a zero feedback loop between the front end and upper management. Front management dont pass our concerns up the chain because they too want transfers and promotions and fear by doing so, with this current paradigm, its a career ender. They want to strap cameras, GPS, on us and nit pick and judge us while we do everyone else's jobs while short handed, yet we don't even have, at a minimum, a yearly or quarterly anonymous employee satisfaction survey. Better yet. Not anonymous and with no fear of retribution. Rookies use this agency as a resume booster and haul butt. Rightfully so. Cant grow here. Well, for most of us regular people at least.
