Where were the CRO's? To bad they weren't the only MPD officers on the scene. They could have walked through the shot-up cars, and BS'd people while they had their own thumbs up their butts. They probably would not have realized a crime had occurred. Naturally, they would not have fired a shot. Miramar would never be sued that way.

What are you, a career criminal, a cop-hater or an idiot.
The bad guys, committed several violent felonies prior to to the police even becoming involved. The police made numerous attempts to stop the hijacked UPS truck, before it got caught in traffic in Miramar. The police did not jump out of their uits and strat spraying the truck with gunfire. They began ti advance on the truck to take the bad guys into custody. The bad guys had ample time to surrender. They did not, but instead decided to shoot it out with the police surrounding the truck. While it might be nice if the police could pick the time and place for arresting dangerous felons, and control the actions of said felons, at the same time, the reality is that the felons are in control of the situation, as much as the police are. They chose the time and place for the confrontation and they chose a violent confrontation. The driver of the truck might well have survived if he had dove out of the truck, hit the ground and crawled under it. The motorist would probably not have been hurt had he, or she, simply put the car in park and laid down on the front seat. It is unfortunate that innocent people were killed. But, it is not the fault of the police.

Hey stupid, they would have fixed it. They would have walked up to the bad guys and offered to take them shopping with a program such as "Fun with a Violent Felon" which is the adult version of "Shop with a Cop." A little TLC from a CRO would have fixed everything. We all know that it worked on the Andy Griffith show in 1961. Hell, he didn't even have to wear a gun.
