Happy with the PBA?
The time has come to consider dropping the pba and switching to PLEA/IUPA. By clicking the link below you'll find an interest card. These cards will be used to petition the Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC) requesting them to hold an election that will allow us to vote for a new Union. At no time will the pba or FIUnhave the ability to see who has signed a card. The cards are NOT for membership. The cards purpose is to say you are interested in PERC conducting an election so you can make a choice in Union representation.
Please click the link below to print and complete your interest card today. You can mail your card to PLEA at 7743 NW 48th Street, Suite 150, Doral, Florida 33166. Feel free to print out several for fellow officers to complete and sign as well. Just make sure you and your fellow officers are off duty while signing cards. The best time for folks to sign would be before roll call. Stay Safe and thank you in advance for your support!

PBA has taken adopted a new philosophy. For example, homestead LEOs wanted the PBA to make an endorsement of their choice for Mayor. The PBA refused to do the will of its members and stayed out of the race all together.
The same thing is currently occurring at the county level.
As for us here at FIU, well we asked the PBA not to award the Chief with recognition. We now know that our requests fell on deaf ears and they did what we specifically asked them not to do. The PBA said it was their decision what is done, and not that of the members. So, their philosophy is that members have no say.
I do have a say where my dues money goes and I refuse to give it to the PBA.
Do like me, contact IUPA and let’s begin the process to bring in a union who pays attention to the members. FIU is ready for a change.

I called the number and they said they would be glad to represent us. They listen to members needs and they are not in bed with the brass. They are everything the PBA is not.

IUPA is a subservient lil ***** to the AFL-CIO who are very anti-cop anyone who joins is cutting their own throat by your dues supporting anti-cop candidates in elections yes your hard earned dues money filtered by plea/iupa but kicked up to afl-cio. Do you want your dues money supporting the scum robber who attacked a good cop ? How about your dues money supporting scum anti-law enforcement politicians well guess what if you join thats exactly what will happen.
