Another IUPA member unfairly terminated
Bso really afraid of jeff bell iupa
The Broward Sheriff’s deputy whose violent slamming of a high school teenager’s head on the pavement was captured on a cellphone video was fired this week despite the recommendation of an oversight board that he keep his job.
Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony said during a press conference at the Broward Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday that Deputy Christopher Krickovich’s actions back in April were unreasonable and unnecessary
.“I disagreed with that recommendation and he was terminated yesterday,” Tony said. “We don’t have a policy that allows a deputy to slam someone’s head into the ground.”

The county’s Professional Standards Committee, made up of 11 members from law enforcement, corrections personnel and civilians, had recommended no discipline for Krickovich.
Another officer involved in the incident, Deputy Ralph Mackey, will receive a written reprimand for not turning on his body-worn camera.

Steadman: keep pulling on straws man. It doesn’t help you one bit. The department can take action on anyone but we tear into the Sheriff we will get his job back. We represent our people unlike the PBA. You all denied your member, who then had to hire his own attorney and was acquitted.
We do, PBA wishes.

Did you listen to the same news broadcast as the rest of us? Jeff Bell the President said the IUPA legal team represent the officer at the Discipline Review Board and received a vote of 11 to 0 not to discipline the officer. I'd say IUPA provided that officer with outstanding legal representation. What better outcome could you get than a 11-0 vote for no discipline? If the Sheriff decides to go forward and terminating this officer for a political reasons in an attempt to garner votes for the upcoming election than shame on him. If this was the PBA representing this officer they would have recommended that he resign and not fight at all in order to save money. With IUPA they fight no matter what the cost!!!
