Chief of Staff is not a sworn position. It didn't even exist until Wendy was hired. She was a civilian employee. Stop stirring shit.

Wendy took a sworn MAJOR spot. But let’s say you are correct Ernie. There are no police civilian staff that can do that job? We have to get an Aide from City Hall? How about a retired PO? This is nothing but a 13 gatherer for Jimmy Morales. Just like Gonzalez did to Noriega. The FOP needs to protect Chief or we will be getting An outsider again.

At least Wendy was a Chief. What experience does a City Hall Secretary have to justify the 180k job? The Manager put out an email asking for us to report misuse of funds. This will be a great suggestion.

So basically we are civilians once we clear City limits but a civilian with no LEO experience can be the COS in the Chiefs Office. Got it!

Wendy was not a chief the was a thief who got away with double dipping. She was getting admin leave time to attend and teach at conferences all across the country. And at the same time being paid by PERF and the city. To add to this by using no time she was able to bank all her time to sell back. And all that was brought to light and covered up. It was ok to be a thief under Dan Oates just not a police officer. And to back up this post just look at the Michelle P time theft scheme to defraud. Nope no money paid back and no one disciplined. Hell most involved were promoted or given cushy jobs.

Yes. But according to Kevin he’s going to an open mic hour at the Commission Meeting to air his concerns about what we are allowed by FDLE to do when outside the City. Not sit back and take the big dude with toothpick legs to dictate what his interpretation is. How about letting us know so we can stack the meeting FOP?!?!

and can someone explain why we need a civilian who once worked for a City Commissioner who obviously was "gifted" this over paid $180K/yearly salary. Lets not forget the benefits (Health, Pension, etc) bringing this position over the quarter million dollar mark or even more for a secretary with ZERO law enforcement experience. Some serious favors and back room hand shakes going on in this city. Was there an open hiring / application process ? were there any other better candidates for this made up Dan Oates position..?
