You'll get a take home car. You can expect a career equal to what you put into it. If you're a lazy complainer, like a lot of them replying to people on this site, then you'll go nowhere. If you work hard, and make yourself standout, you'll get calls from specialty units trying to recruit you. And to be clear, just doing what is expected of you (bare minimum) doesn't count as working hard. As far as your district, that will be based on agency needs, not necessarily where you live.

LCSO is a great department to work for. There is one very corrupt guy in Lee County named Jim Leavans. Stay Away from him and you’ll be fine.
All he does is bash out great department on this site.
I worked with him for the last two sheriffs all he did was stab them in the back on a daily basis .
