A violation of Civil Service Rule Sec. 17.1 Practices, Penalties. No person shall either directly or indirectly solicit, pay, render, receive, or give any money, service or other valuable thing to any person for, or on account of, or in connection with any test, appointment, promotion, demotion, layoff, or dismissal. Any person who violates the provisions of this rule, besides the legal penalties provided, shall be ineligible for appointment or employment in a classified position for such period as may be determined by the Board, and any classified employee of the City found guilty of violating this rule by the Board may be dismissed, suspended or demoted as the Board may determine. The MCPBA president is Haitian. One would think he would be happy that the chief recently promoted a Comander of Haitian descent. Apparently he doesn’t count either.
