That lady would sell her own mother down the river to make herself look good. Remember when she had her in service block and told everyone she is a captain? Just another member of staff who cares more about herself than what is right. Sheriff, take the posters down. It’s embarrassing to see words like integrity and respect in the office you occupy. It’s sad we have to work for people like this.

It seems like the last three SSO PIOs have suffered a "case of the big head."

    Here are the facts:

    • She is a political appointee and does not have CSB protection. She can be dismissed at any time without cause.
    • She has a college degree, but so does everybody else.
    • She is 20 something. So what.
    • She has no arrest authority.
    • She has no investigative authority.
    • She can be dismissed at any time without cause. (just wanted to say that one again)

    She won't last much longer.

Didn't she get her position by complaining about the prior PIO Wendy? I guess that "polished apple" didn't fall too far from the "Rose" bush.

Question Written threat to do kill?

It's a felony to text a threat to kill (or to do bodily harm).

Florida Criminal Statute 836.10 covers this at: http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/...s/0836.10.html

Did the Sarasota Sheriff's Office send a probable cause affidavit to the State Attorney?

That's a very interesting question. Let's review the facts of this two-step case:

    1. Cheraina Bonner "snitched" on Jeff Maultsby by reporting his actions to the Sarasota sheriff.
      .
    2. Maultsby subsequently texted Bonner a threat, explaining to her that "snitches get stitches." He included an article about a "murdered snitch."

Is Maultsby's text a "threat" to harm Bonner for snitching on him to the Sarasota sheriff?

Nope, no PCA was sent to the SAO, but the SSO PIO did give the suspect's secretary a "heads-up" that Bonner snitched on him to law enforcement.

    1. The reporter from the H-T (Chris Anderson) was a paying customer and he was the very first person to put in a public records request for the SSO paperwork (about Jeff Maultsby & Cheraina Bonner).
      .
    2. However, Anderson did not receive the SSO paperwork until after SSO PIO Kaitlyn Perez was able to give it away, for free, to a non-paying person, who never even asked for it e.g. to Tracey Beeker at the school district.

If a deputy sheriff did that, then he or she would be disciplined or even terminated (for theft of paperwork), but since Perez is Tom Knight’s political appointee, she gets a free disciplinary pass.

    The more you know….
Question: if a reporter calls the Sso to make an inquiry about the Perez case, then who will be the acting PIO to answer questions about her actions?

I see your point. Since Perez is the story, then she can't realistically speak on behalf of the Sarasota Sheriff's Office. In that case, the current sheriff (Tom Knight) will have to appoint someone else to speak as the acting-PIO to explain the actions of Perez.

The thread about Trump's whistleblower was posted 2.5 months ago and it has about 600 views with 16 posts.

The thread about SSO PIO Kaitlyn Perez was posted 24 hours ago, but it has almost 600 views with 16 posts.

    Food for thought.

Why no response from anyone in command about her behavior? Saying nothing makes it look like what she’d did was alright. Does the Sheriff support this kind of behavior?
